Chill:
The 2006
Winter Compilation

Coming Soon

about

Once upon a time there were three gay men in their 30's who bought condos within a block of each other in Washington, D.C.

Each of them lived his life in forward motion, each a very different man. But the three were intertwined with each other - and with the myriad of friends, lovers, boyfriends, acquaintances, detractors, tricks, groupies, lost souls and wannabes they met along the way.

Theirs is the life of modern urban Americans, complete with wild parties and jetset travel, of beach houses and rooftop pools. Of late nights awake in bed, and long drives in rainstorms.

Lost opportunities, and slips of the tongue. Hard work, great victories. Secrets in the vault, regrets left unsaid. Exhilarating joy. Agonizing heartbreak.

This is their story.

Scissor Sisters
930 Club - Washington, D.C.
January 12, 2005

[Attending: Sean, Kevin, Matt, Christopher, Roy, Chuck, Dirty, Troy & David, Hank...and somewhere up in the rafters, T-Todd...]

KEVIN: It was clear from this show, and the energy of the growing base of fans, that Scissor Sisters is going to be big -- if they want to be. They perform their asses off, and have a chemistry on stage that is joyous, extremely sexy, witty, confident, sleazy and, above all, very very talented. The musical hints at Elton John, ELO, David Bowie and other performers from the glam-rock era -- with a fresh, young, 21st Century face and a hard-charging dance beat ....it connects with such a wide crossection of today's market. It's thrilling to stand in a venue like 9:30 Club and think about being able to say in a few years that I saw them there - that I was part of that electricity and excitement, considering where they may end up going......One interesting point tho - what would larger venues possibly do to them? So much of their energy comes from how every member of the band interacts with the other in relatively close proximity....And how everyone in the crowd wants to rub up against the person next to him/her..... ;) ....Also funny - how the band has icons for so many slices of their audience -- the crazy/sexy/cool Jake Shears (who everyone wants to fuck, but the gay boys know they can)...Ana Matronic (the hot, filthy/gorgeous, "cunty" ---her word!---- girls in the audience and the men who worship them, oh and also the trannies and the drag queens, she's their goddess too).......Babydaddy (of course, the bears, who were grrrrring and rrrrowwwing like crazy last night, instigated by Jake and Ana now and then)....Del Marquis (for the fashmagslag boys and those who love them, he sprinkles a little Princey glam into the mix).....and Paddy Boom (the drummer is always sexy but always so damn hard to see -- get him on his feet some more, kids).......Ana and Jake's banter is also very entertaining. It'll be an ongoing gauge -- as the band gets more popular and richer and richer -- as to how they are doing behind the scenes. If it stays witty, sharp and fresh as it is now, then all is well. If it starts getting shorter, more slurred, tense....then we'll be concerned. But right now -- they are as fresh as a newborn baby. There is never a better time to enjoy a supremely talented band. See them NOW, kids. Don't delay. [Posted: January 13, 2005]

DIRTY: i had to go to the upstairs viewing gallery with the losers and lesbians because i was too short to see from the floor...it was nice to run into the rest of the gang. i think matt was surprised by my greeting...maybe i shoudln't have said hi to matt by grabbing his crotch. he seemed surprised...kevin slipped me some tongue during our hello...i was so wasted that i accidentally smoked a cigarette at the bar... SEAN:
Flashback Boy: best line of the evening: "you are one sexy little elfin motherfucker!" - ana matronic, to jake shears
Flashback Boy: and oh was she right
Flashback Boy: jake is destined to be my next husband
Flashback Boy: but ana got in all the best lines
Flashback Boy: like when she recounted the story about the boy who gave her fashion advice outside the club earlier that night
Flashback Boy: and praised him on his "cunty, sparkly, platform boots" before dedicating their performance of "filthy & gorgeous" to him
Flashback Boy: overall, quite a magnificent concert... scissor sisters fans have such a great vibe going!
Flashback Boy: oh, i also loved jake's line about the many things that could be done with a roll of quarters and his ass
